Welcome to the MNTL Must-Have 7, our monthly post sharing the 7 coolest products of the month, hand-picked by the Mantelligence team from the thousands of cool things for guys we see each month.
…And these are March’s coolest items:
7. GrowlerWerks uKeg 64 oz.
This handsome mini-keg hold up to 64 oz. of your incredible home-brewed beer.
It’s uniquely designed to keep your beer fresh for weeks… by combining an 8 oz. CO2 cartridge (to keep it pressurized and carbonated), and a gold-plated, stainless steel vessel that’s double-walled, vacuum-insulated.
It makes a great accent piece, and is a must for any serious (or seriously aspiring) home brewer.
6. Whistle 3 Pet Tracker & Activity Monitor
Do you have a pet that you absolutely love? The Whistle 3 Pet Tracker helps you do two really important things:
- Track their activity levels (to help make sure they’re getting enough exercise)
- Monitor their location (to help you find them quickly if they get lost)
Pretty great, right?
And all you have to do is attach it to your dog or cat’s collar, and you’re good to go. It’s even completely waterproof and highly durable (in other words… it’s designed to go where your pet does).
5. PLAYBULB Smart LED Candle
PLAYBULB’s Smart LED Candle instantly adds a splash of color to your home or yard.
Using the PLAYBULB app on your smartphone (connected via Bluetooth), you can make these LED candles glow (just about) any color you want (there are literally millions to choose from). They even have a series of cool light effects (flashing, pulsing, rainbow, rainbow fading, and candle).
And here’s the best part: you can blow them off like a real candle (…and on like a fake candle).
And ps: if you get the three pack, it’s basically buy 2, get 1 free.
4. Huckberry Compact EDC Kit
Whether you’re just getting into EDC (short for ‘every day carry’) or are a seasoned vet, this Compact EDC Kit from Huckberry is a great addition to your every day carry.
It folds up to fit in the palm of your hand (or comfortably in your pocket), is incredibly lightweight, and comes with a handful of really useful features:
- Room for 3 keys (if you have more keys than this, start here)
- Griffin Pocket Tool (an unbreakable, feature-rich mini multitool)
- Bit Driver (reversible phillips/flathead bit)
- Folding Knife (basic EDC knife – if you want an actual EDC knife, see here)
- 10” of 550 paracord (as a lanyard)
Just remember: you can’t bring this guy on the plane!
3. Sugru Moldable Glue
Sugru is a moldable, self-setting rubber… that’s the your solution to so many different problems.
Here’s how it works: when you take it out of its package, it has the consistency of play-doh (allowing you to shape it however you want, by hand)… but overnight, it cures and sets to a super-strong, super-durable rubber (which you can use for both indoor and outdoor use). It bonds to just about anything (like aluminum, steel, glass, wood, and even some fabrics), is waterproof, UV resistant, electrically insulating, and even dishwasher proof.
In short: you can use it fix and/or improve countless different things (what you can use it for is really only bound by your imagination).
PS: it’s hard to put into words how versatile, and powerful, Sugru is… so to get a better idea, check out this page on Pinterest dedicated to showcasing the thousands of things you can use it for.
2. LectroFan Micro
Do you have trouble sleeping?
Many (including Mantelligence’s editor Kyle) find that using a white-noise machine is a huge help. They work by playing a constant, soothing, white-noise that blocks out other ambient noises around you.
This little one from LectroFan is super small (it fits in the palm of your hand)… making it perfect for travel (or as a non-invasive addition to your nightstand). It comes equipped with 10 unique sleep sounds (5 fan sounds, 4 white-noise sounds, and one ocean sound), and even doubles as a bluetooth speaker (so you can play your tunes on the go).
1. Luminoodle LED Rope Lights and Lantern
If you do literally anything outdoors… you’re going to want the Luminoodle:
It’s a super basic concept: a 10ft (or 5ft) rope of USB-powered, waterproof LED lights (with 26 lights total lights). But this basic concept is surprisingly useful (in a ridiculously wide range of situations):
- Use it camping
- As a reading light
- Attach it to your car’s tailgate (by using the Luminoodle’s attached magnets)
- Wrap it around your bicycle
- As a lantern (by stuffing your Luminoodle in its included ripsotp nylon bag)
- Etc., etc., etc.
The Lumindoole emits a warm light (not the bluish-color of many LED lights), that’s designed to be exceptionally bright (it’s 10x brighter than the average LED-Christmas light). Pretty cool, right?
